CHICAGO, April 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- March went out with a roar from the worldwide RE/MAX network, which announced that it is now 100,000 agents strong. It reached that mark with a boost from four Chicago real estate brokers who joined local RE/MAX offices as March ended.
"Our agent-centric business model has attracted top producers for 42 years. It's nice to have such large numbers, but we're most proud of the quality agents who call RE/MAX home," said Dave Liniger, CEO and co-founder of RE/MAX, LLC.
"In an improving market, the most productive agents will want to affiliate with a recognized brand that supports their efforts with valuable resources and innovative technology tools."
Liniger's view is borne out by the four newest Chicago area RE/MAX brokers: Kathleen Myles of RE/MAX Action in Lisle, Ill.; Luis Ortiz of RE/MAX Partners in Berwyn, Ill.; Mark Sannita of RE/MAX Excels in Geneva, Ill., and Mary Kay Wright of RE/MAX All Pro in Bloomingdale, Ill.
Myles was a long-time RE/MAX agent who departed six years ago but is happy to return.
"A combination of the 2008 downturn in the real estate market and some major family health issues convinced me to try a different working environment," she said. "But both those factors are now behind me, and I was tremendously impressed when I met Gary Jacklin, the broker/owner of RE/MAX Action. His approach to our business, putting faith and family first, and his skills at using technology to improve productivity I found extremely impressive. It's a perfect fit for me."
Like Myles, Mark Sannita is making a return to RE/MAX after spending several years as an independent broker focused on handling foreclosures.
"In many ways it was my long-time clients who led me back here," said Sannita. "They think RE/MAX is the top real estate brand, and several of them urged me to re-affiliate with it. I did, and I have to admit, I'm delighted to be back."
Luis Ortiz is new to RE/MAX, having worked for several other brokerage organizations during his 10-year real estate career, but made his move for reasons not dissimilar from those of Myles.
"First of all I was impressed with Al Snyder, our broker/owner," said Ortiz, "but at the same time I was attracted to both the strength and visibility of the RE/MAX brand and the technological tools, like the mobile app, that I can now offer my customers."
Mary Kay Wright moved from Coldwell Banker to RE/MAX but isn't entirely new to the network. She held an administrative role in a RE/MAX office before earning her real estate license a decade ago.
"When I first earned my license, I didn't feel I was ready for RE/MAX because I know how knowledgeable and professional RE/MAX agents are, but I always wanted to affiliate with RE/MAX once I felt I was at that level."
RE/MAX agents consistently rank among the most productive in the industry. In the United States, RE/MAX agents averaged 15.6 years of real estate experience and 16.0 transaction sides in 2014.
