The annual holiday pop-up in NYC showcases items hand-selected by WIRED editors and curators, including the BACtrack Vio Smartphone Breathalyzer, along with the hottest electronics, apparel and accessories, musical instruments, kitchen gadgets, adventure gear, and much more. Located at 459 West 14th Street in Manhattan, the WIRED Store will run from December 11 through December 21, from 11 am to 7 pm.
The new e-shop is situated between Terminals 7 and 8 at LAX, one of the country's most heavily trafficked airports during the holiday season, with an estimated 2.6 million travelers. From now until December 31, interactive touchscreens will feature products from the 2014 WIRED Store collection.
"During the past decade, the WIRED Store has become a barometer for the hottest holiday gifts," said Kim Kelleher, WIRED vice president & publisher. "It is the ultimate social retail experience, bringing together the most innovative programming and products."
The BACtrack Vio Smartphone Breathalyzer is a unique gift for anyone that consumes alcohol or knows someone that does. The device is a holiday necessity and a perfect fit for the WIRED Store. The Vio makes it easy to estimate a person's Blood Alcohol Content (BAC), and make smarter, more informed, decisions.
BACtrack Vio combines a compact keychain design with wireless Bluetooth® connectivity and accurate MicroCheck® sensor technology to make it the most affordable and convenient way for consumers to drink responsibly. BACtrack's free companion app offers useful features, such as Guess Your BAC and ZeroLine®, which provides an estimate of how long it will take for a user's BAC to return to 0.00%. Users may also choose to track their BAC results over time, and add notes or photos to results.
BACtrack Vio is also integrated with the Apple Health app, allowing consumers to make correlations between their alcohol consumption patterns and other factors that contribute to their overall health.
"We are honored to be included in this year's WIRED Store," said Keith Nothacker, CEO and founder of BACtrack. "Our goal is to make breathalyzers accessible to anyone and everyone so that we can ultimately help consumers better understand how alcohol affects their bodies. This is a particularly timely goal given the holiday season when alcohol consumption rates increase and when people are purchasing gifts for loved ones."
The WIRED Store is presented by BMW i and Oakley.
