Winter Park Construction (WPC) To Break Ground On $60 Million Off-Campus Student Housing Development At University of Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla., Jan.31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Winter Park Construction (WPC), one of the nation's most respected general contractors and leading student housing construction companies has been selected by American Campus Communities to build Plaza on University, a premier mixed-use student housing and retail project in Orlando, Florida. Designed by architect Niles Bolton Associates, this $60 million, 1,313-bed, complex is scheduled for completion in August of 2014.

Plaza on University will reside on 14 acres just outside the main entrance of the University of Central Florida (UCF) on the northwest corner of University Blvd. and Alafaya Blvd. This 650,000 square foot project will house 364 units within a 5-story wood-framed building. Offering students a unique live/work/shop environment, Plaza on University will boast 60,000 square feet of retail space among the first floor. A 10-story precast parking garage will allow for ample parking for both guests and residents and partially surround a luxurious amenity courtyard containing a resort-style pool, misting cabanas, sport courts and barbeque area.
