GENEVA, Jan. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Winston & Strawn LLP announced today that Laurence Burger has joined its international arbitration practice as of counsel in the Geneva, Switzerland office. Mrs. Burger brings more than a decade of sophisticated experience in international arbitration issues, advising clients in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and South America. She joins Winston from Tavernier Tschanz in Geneva, and previously practiced in Paris and New York.

Mrs. Burger's practice is focused on counseling a wide range of multi-national businesses in ICC, AAA, UNCITRAL and the Swiss Rules of International Arbitration. Clients include companies in the power, manufacturing, telecommunications and financial services sectors, as well as athletes in sports-related arbitrations. Mrs. Burger also advises multi-national companies on general Swiss law issues, including corporate transactions.

Mrs. Burger earned an LL.B., cum laude, from the University of Fribourg School of Law (Switzerland), a DESS in arbitration and ADR, with honors, from the Universite Pantheon-Assas (Paris, France) and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. She is admitted to the Geneva Bar and the New York State Bar.
