Winston & Strawn Expands London Office Intellectual Property Practice With Arrival of Richard Price and Gareth Morgan

LONDON, Jan. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Winston & Strawn LLP announced today that it has significantly expanded its intellectual property, and in particular its patent, and trademark litigation capabilities globally, as well as in Europe, with the addition of  Richard Price and Gareth Morgan, who have joined the London office as partners.  Price joins Winston from Taylor Wessing, where he was a partner in the intellectual property department.  He again links with Morgan who also had been a patent litigation partner at Taylor Wessing.

Price and Morgan, who have well-established practices in the U.K., bring a rare combination of intellectual property experience representing a wide range of sectors, including life sciences, healthcare, agriculture, consumer products and electronics.

Price is recognized as one of the leading patent and trademark litigators in the U.K.  He is one of a limited number of U.K. lawyers who has litigated cases in the main areas of intellectual property law, taken them to the highest courts in the U.K., and won them all.  He has extensive experience in co-ordinating IP litigation across Europe.  Among other things, Price advises corporate clients on a wide range of patent, copyright and trademark matters, including those concerning brain, coronary and abdominal stents; ePTFE products; consumer products; and carbon emissions.  

Dr. Morgan, who is highly experienced in all areas of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property law, is particularly well-regarded for his work in the life sciences and healthcare sectors.  Most notably he has represented clients in high profile, landmark patent and patent licence disputes, advised clients on challenges to the decisions of medicines authorities before the English and European courts and also advises clients on product lifecycle management within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.  Gareth has a degree and Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry.
