DiResta brings more than 25 years of experience in governmental investigations, white collar civil defense matters, and complex commercial litigation in the state and federal trial and appellate courts with a particular focus on consumer protection issues affecting a wide range of industries (including privacy, false advertising and unfair marketing practices, and financial practices). DiResta is also a recognized authority on social and new media issues, and serves as general counsel to the Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA), which is the leading voice in the United States for the viral, buzz, and word of mouth marketing industry. Before going into private practice, DiResta served as Director of the Federal Trade Commission Southeast Regional Office, where he was responsible for enforcement, investigative, litigation and outreach efforts of the Competition and Consumer Protection Bureaus of the agency in seven states.
