Winstead Welcomes New Executive Director Howard Mudrick
DALLAS, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Winstead PC has hired Howard L. Mudrick as the firm's new executive director. Mudrick brings more than 31 years of experience, assisting law firms and professional service organizations in all areas of management, strategic vision and growth. With a long list of significant accomplishments, both as a law firm administrator and law firm management consultant, the staff and attorneys at Winstead are pleased and excited to welcome Mudrick to the firm.
Mudrick began his career working in major law firms in Washington D.C., initially as a controller and later becoming a business manager. He then took a position with Hildebrandt, Inc., the premier law firm consulting organization, working in the company's New Jersey office and eventually transferring to lead Dallas Hildebrandt's office. At Hildebrandt, Mudrick led a financial practice group that provided management consulting services to several local, national and international law firms. In 1998, Mudrick opened his own consulting practice, HM Solutions, Inc., where he enjoyed great success advising law firms and professional services organizations. Mudrick most recently served as chief operating officer at Jennings, Strouss and Salmon, PLC, a law firm based in Phoenix, Arizona.
Throughout his career, Mudrick has combined his accounting background with his business management and financial planning skills to bring effective strategies to law firm management and operations. He has analyzed the economic performance for more than 100 law firms and successfully evaluated, negotiated and completed more than 25 law firm mergers. Mudrick develops approaches and delivers strategies that result in significant increases in overall firm profits and improvements in the management of practice groups and client relationships.

Mudrick has written numerous articles and he is a co-author of the first edition of the book, "Anatomy of a Law Firm Merger" for the American Bar Association Law Firm Management Section. His articles are published in various legal trades and professional management publications and he gives frequent presentations to legal and professional services organizations. Mudrick is a fellow of the College of Law Practice Management; a member of the American Heart Association Cotes du Coeur Board; and he's on the board of editors for Accounting and Financial Planning for Law Firms. He received his B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and he is a certified public accountant (inactive status).
