Winning Cash 5 Ticket Sold in Washington County Nears Expiration
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., Dec. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Players, check your tickets: a winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 ticket worth $112,500 that was sold in Washington County for the December 18, 2015, drawing will soon expire. It was one of two tickets that shared a $225,000 jackpot from that drawing.
The unclaimed ticket was sold by Giant Eagle, 200 Station St., McDonald. It correctly matched all five white balls drawn, 06-18-36-39-42, to win a prize of $112,500, less applicable tax withholding.
A prize claim must be filed with the Lottery by Friday, December 16, 2016. Lottery offices will be closed Sunday, December 18, 2016.
The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages claimants to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a timely claim at any of Lottery's seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at area Lottery offices and from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at headquarters.
By law, unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians. Although some lotteries give players only 90 or 180 days to claim a prize, Pennsylvania Lottery draw game prizes may be claimed on a business day up to one year from the drawing date.
Players are reminded to check every ticket, every time, at self-service scanners located at retailers and also found on Lottery self-service play terminals. Players may also use the Ticket Checker on the Lottery's official mobile app. Sign tickets immediately for proof of ownership.
