HOUSTON, Nov. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- itSMF USA, a chapter of itSMF International and the independent professional organization and forum for IT Service Management professionals in the U.S., has announced the winners of its 2014 Student Case Competition, presented by BMC Software.
Each year, this event brings together graduate-level students interested in Service Management from universities across the country. This year's case study was based on a fictional government agency with a service management challenge, in honor of the location of this year's Fusion14 conference being held in our nation's capital.
First place and $5,000 went to the team from the University of Indiana and team members Mansi Bhatt, Daina Dangerfield, and Lakshmi Chaudhari. Second place and $3,000 went to the team from Texas A&M University and team members Aravindan Rajamani, Parul Rannot, and Darryl Alva. Third place and $1,000 went to the team from the University of Pittsburgh and team members Aishwarya Garg, Vaibhav Sharma, and Aditya Gupta.
The judging panel of industry experts included Jaquetta Madgett, BMC Software; Carolyn Hennings, cmhstudies and case study author; Jenny Geisler, Aeritae and itSMF USA Treasurer; Robyn McGregor, McGregor Consulting and ITSMF USA Director; Cathy Kirch, Allstate and ITSMF USA LIG Leader; and Tim Peterson, Xcel Energy and ITSMF USA LIG Leader. Teams from the University of South Florida, the University of Texas at Dallas, and Tulane University also participated.
