Winners of 7th Annual ACG New York Champion's Awards Revealed
Top M&A Deals, Firms and Professionals Recently Honored at Award Ceremony at the Metropolitan Club in NYC
NEW YORK, June 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ACG New York, the largest association for middle-market deal making professionals in New York, and The M&A Advisor announced today the winners of the 7th Annual ACG New York Champion's Awards, held last night at the Metropolitan Club in New York City. The annual tribute recognizes and honors the leading middle-market transactions, firms and dealmakers within the local ACG community responsible for supporting middle-market growth in New York. The winners were selected in the following categories: Business & Financial Services Deal of the Year; Consumer/Retail Deal of the Year; Healthcare/Pharma Deal of the Year; Manufacturing/Industrials Deal of the Year; Technology, Media, and Telecom Deal of the Year; and Cross- Border Deal of the Year.

Among the esteemed honorees were Alan Gelband, President/CEO, Gelband & Company, who was presented with the Peter Hilton Founder's Award and Heidi Deiner, the recipient of the Chapter Leadership Award, who in addition to being the chair of ACG New York, is Director of Client Relations at Murray Devine. Marcia Nelson, Managing Director, Alberleen Family Office Solutions and VP of the Programming Committee for ACG New York, received the Women of Leadership Award, and Lou Halstead, President of GMW Management, received the inaugural Lou Halstead Woman of Leadership award in recognition of her 15 years of service to ACG New York as Chapter Executive. Halstead is retiring this year.

Along these lines, the group donated $50 for every Champion's Award attendee to ACG Cares, a nonprofit that helps to nurture the next generation of New York business leaders by assisting college and graduate students from a range of social backgrounds in finding their first business-sector job.

Criteria used by the judges included the importance of the transaction, product, service or dealmaker to the industry, as well as the creativity, resourcefulness and perseverance it took to complete the deal.
