Wineman Technology Receives Product of the Year Award at NIWeek 2012
National Instruments Names INERTIA Test Automation Software Test Product of the Year in LabVIEW Tools Network Awards
AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NIWeek– Wineman Technology today announced that its INERTIA Test Automation Software has won the LabVIEW Tools Network Test Product of the Year award sponsored by National Instruments (NI). INERTIA is designed to help engineers quickly and efficiently implement real-time control and test applications.
Wineman's INERTIA is part of the NI LabVIEW Tools Network, a software program to accelerate developer productivity by providing access to certified, third-party add-ons to help users expand the power of NI LabVIEW system design software. The 2012 Product of the Year awards recognize the innovative work from third-party developers in the LabVIEW ecosystem, including developers like Wineman Technology that work with NI VeriStand.
"INERTIA expands the LabVIEW ecosystem for test applications by adding on to NI VeriStand. By using NI VeriStand with INERTIA, control engineers can easily create and execute real-time control applications including dynamometer and servo-hydraulic test systems," said Jeff Meisel, LabVIEW Tools Network program manager.
The NI VeriStand test environment provides real-time model execution, deterministic stimulus generation, data logging, and hardware I/O connectivity in a configuration-based environment. Up until now, to implement multi-axis or multi-mode control systems typically required in test cell applications, engineers had to develop and maintain custom features for NI VeriStand. With INERTIA, control engineers can take advantage of ready-to-use functionality including control display templates, control groupings, and procedure commands designed specifically for physical control systems. Engineers use NI VeriStand and INERTIA to create real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test systems for simulation, control, and monitoring. With INERTIA, Ford Motor Company now can test a variety of fuel cells with a single test system.
"INERTIA ultimately helps engineers rapidly configure and deploy control systems by allowing them to get up and running quickly without in-depth programming knowledge," said Jim Wineman, President of Wineman Technology. "With INERTIA and the LabVIEW Tools Network, engineers maximize NI software to create systems that will produce the best end-products possible."
As a LabVIEW Tools Network contributor, Wineman Technology works closely with National Instruments sales, marketing, research and development, and technical support organizations to create the best products that ensure satisfaction of mutual customers.
