Winebow Announces Senior Management and Organizational Changes
Company Positions itself for Continued Growth and Success
NEW YORK, Dec. 21, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Winebow, Inc., a leading importer and distributor of fine wine, spirits and sake from around the world, announced today a series of senior management changes, effective January 1, 2011.
Leonardo LoCascio, who founded Winebow 30 years ago, will assume the title of Founder and Chairman. In this role, LoCascio will remain active in the overall strategy of the company as well as the daily activities of the import portfolio and, in particular, will continue to be responsible for Winebow's collection of Italian wines under the Leonardo LoCascio Selections label.
Jon Moramarco, who joined Winebow in March 2010 as President, will become President and CEO. Moramarco will work with LoCascio, the Board of Directors and the senior management team on the overall strategy for the company, and will be responsible for the day-to-day business.
Peter Click, Group President of Imports, who has been with Winebow since the company's acquisition of Click Wine Group in 2008, has decided to leave Winebow at the end of the year. "It has been rewarding to successfully integrate Click Wine Group's sales and marketing team, and our brands into Winebow," says Click. "Now that this has been accomplished, I am looking forward to pursuing other opportunities in the industry."
Vinny Chiaramonte, who joined Winebow in 2006, has been promoted to the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Imports. Chiaramonte will be responsible for the sales of Winebow's import portfolio through third party distributors and for the activities of the portfolio within Winebow's own wholesale markets. He will also oversee brand management, marketing, public relations and wine education for the import portfolio. Chiaramonte will report to Jon Moramarco and work closely with Leonardo LoCascio.
"Throughout his more than 20 years of experience in the wine and spirits industry, including various senior management roles at Winebow," says Moramarco, "Vinny has proven his outstanding abilities as a manager, mentor and leader."
Brian Horton will be promoted to the newly created position of Senior Vice President of National Sales. Horton, who joined Winebow in 2009 with over fifteen years of industry experience, will be directly responsible for Winebow's business with third party wholesalers and will report to Vinny Chiaramonte.
Subsequent to Winebow's steady growth and the realignment of its executive leadership, the company's national market will now be managed as two divisions, with Ian Downey and Brian Erwin promoted to Senior Vice Presidents of the East and West respectively. Both Downey and Erwin will report to Brian Horton.
"I congratulate these outstanding and dedicated individuals who will further strengthen and ensure the continued success of our company," says LoCascio. "I look forward to working with them in this new capacity and am confident that our entire team will thrive under their leadership."
