HEALDSBURG, Calif., Oct. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Wine Road, Northern Sonoma County is pleased to announce that the organization along with seven of its winery members will be featured in the upcoming new wine TV show, Wine Makers Uncorked, airing Sunday, October 7th at 11:30am on KPIX, the CBS affiliate in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The episode of Wine Makers Uncorked, filmed in March 2018, features hosts Jim and George Angle as they visit seven winemakers who are all preparing for Wine Road's 41st Annual Barrel Tasting event in Northern Sonoma County, California. The episode highlights what drives these winemakers to get out in the vineyards, get their boots dirty and spin their grapes into award winning wines, as well as the behind the scenes work done with wines in the barrel. In addition, the Winemakers, from a variety of different wineries including De La Montanya, Colagrossi Wines, Premonition Cellars, Carol Shelton Wines, ACORN Winery/Alegria Vineyards, Portalupi Wines and Lauterbach Cellars, talk about why serious wine drinkers and collectors should attend Barrel Tasting weekend.
When filming the show last March, Sonoma County was in the beginning stages of recovery from the October 2017 wildfires that devastated the surrounding areas. Although only one Wine Road member winery was burned, many of the 250 Wine Road members had employees who lost their homes. An online fundraiser, organized by Wine Road and facilitated by the United Way of Sonoma County, was set up to help these 60 families get back on their feet, and is discussed during the episode. Those wanting to donate to these families can do so by visiting the online auction site and bidding on one of the many wonderful packages donated by various Wine Road members.
Wine Makers Uncorked is produced by InTroubleZone Studios and is hosted by former news correspondent and wine lover, Jim Angle and his brother George.
