Wine Maker Dinner Series Kicks Off With Two Hands Wines of Australia
STATE COLLEGE, Pa., March 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nittany Lion Inn, at Penn State's University Park Campus, is proud to launch a new Wine Maker dinner series, beginning on March 23 with a dinner featuring the world-class wines of Two Hands Wines of Australia.
Famous for its full line of premium Shiraz wine, Two Hands was recognized by Wine Spectator's annual Top 100 for ten consecutive years beginning in 2002—an achievement without equal by any winery in the world. In the 2016 Top 100, their Lily's Garden 2014 Shiraz was ranked 71st.
Two Hands is owned by Michael Twelftree along with Penn State alum Tim Hower, who earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree from Penn State in the 1980s. Hower will be on hand throughout the evening to represent his winery and share his passion for Two Hands Wines.
The Wine Maker dinner will feature Two Hands' Bella's Garden Shiraz from Barossa and Sexy Beast Cabernet from McLaren Vale, among others that will be selected from the winery's outstanding portfolio.
The five-course dinner will include chef-created dishes such as peppercorn-dusted salmon with chutney and miso aioli; red wine beef stew with local vegetables, bacon, and mild blue cheese; and roasted lamb lollipop chop with salsa verde.
Wine Maker events will be held in the Ballroom of The Nittany Lion Inn, with a one-hour reception in the Atrium before dinner. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner starting at 6:30 p.m.
The cost for the March 23 reception and five-course wine pairing dinner is $95 per person, all inclusive. For reservations please call 814-865-8590.
