Windsor Assembly Plant Begins Production of All-New 2017 Chrysler Pacifica
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- FCA US LLC today announced that the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica began production at its Windsor (Ont.) Assembly Plant. The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica revolutionizes the minivan segment with nearly 40 new minivan firsts designed to offer comfort, convenience and functionality for consumers.
As the original creator of the minivan more than 30 years ago, FCA US has transformed the segment with firsts – notching 78 innovations through the first five minivan generations. With the introduction of the all-new Chrysler Pacifica, FCA US adds 37 minivan firsts to its portfolio for an unprecedented total of 115 innovations in the segment.
Constructed on an all-new platform, Chrysler Pacifica will deliver ride and handling capabilities that not only exceed its primary competitors, but are on par with high-end premium sedans.
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is coming to dealer showrooms in spring 2016.
The Windsor Assembly Plant, built in 1928, runs three shifts and, in 2013, celebrated 30 years of minivan leadership. More than 14 million minivans have been sold since the plant began production in 1983, with more than 6 million currently on the road today.
The 4.4 million-square foot Windsor facility holds the silver designation in World Class Manufacturing (WCM), a methodology that focuses on eliminating waste, increasing productivity, and improving quality and safety in a systematic and organized way. WCM engages the workforce to provide and implement suggestions on how to improve their jobs and their plants.
