The Stinger is an IndyCar show car developed by veteran driver John Andretti, Andretti Autosport, Richard Petty Motorsports and Window World to honor the 100th anniversary of the Indy 500. From May 27-June 10, Car Town will feature the Stinger as a special limited-edition show car available for in-game purchase at www.Facebook.com/CarTown, with all proceeds designated to support Window World Cares. The foundation supports such causes as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® and the Veterans Airlift Command.
Facebook members who play Car Town can collect and customize virtual cars, build their dream garage and help friends do the same, race each other and perform other tasks to earn in-game currency and points. Players who purchase the Stinger will earn experience points, which help them progress through the game.
"The Stinger's addition to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Car Town provides an interactive way for race fans to experience this unique tribute car while helping to support the mission of the Window World Cares foundation," said Tammy Whitworth, chairman and CEO of Window World, Inc., and co-founder of Window World Cares.
According to Justin Choi, president and CEO, Cie Games, "Offering the Stinger is yet another way to enhance the Car Town experience for our players while commemorating the historic 100th anniversary of the Indy 500 and providing players with an entertaining way to contribute to Window World Cares."
