ATLANTA, May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Windham Brannon, a leading provider of tax, audit, accounting and advisory services, will sponsor the Cox Family Enterprise Center's (CFEC) annual Georgia Family Business of the Year Awards.
This is the fourth year in a row that Windham Brannon has supported the Georgia Family Business of the Year Awards, which recognize companies that have successfully combined strong business with strong family. Nominations are reviewed by an independent panel led by Dr. Gaia Marchisio and Dr. Joseph Astrachan based on the following criteria: proven business success; positive family/business linkage; multigenerational family business involvement; contributions to the industry and to the community; and innovative business practices and strategy. One winner and two finalists are selected in the first three categories, and one winner is selected for the Cox Century Award: Small (fewer than 50 employees); Medium (50-250 employees); Large (more than 250 employees); and The Cox Century Award (family business that is at least 100 years old).
"Family-owned businesses play an integral role in the growth and health of the economy, and we're honored to be able to celebrate and honor these companies for all of their contributions to Georgia and to their local communities," said David Kloess, President & CEO, Windham Brannon. "Family-owned businesses make up a large portion of our client base so our partnership with the Cox Family Enterprise Center is a natural fit."
Whether public, private, large or small, the CFEC at Kennesaw State University's Coles College of Business has honored family-owned businesses through the Georgia Family Business of the Year Awards each year since 1991.
An awards dinner will be held to honor the Family-Owned Business of the Year Award winners on Nov. 5, 2015, at the Embassy Suites Atlanta – Centennial Olympic Park.
