WinCo Foods Announces Opening of Bellingham, Washington Store

BOISE, Idaho, Aug. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- WinCo Foods, LLC announced today that it will open its newest discount supermarket at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 15th.  The approximately 90,000 square foot Bellingham store is located at 300 East Bellis Fair Parkway.  The new store will initially employ 171 individuals, 161 of whom are newly hired from the area and will become WinCo Foods' newest employee owners. 

WinCo Foods is an employee owned discount food chain known primarily for being the supermarket low price leader in each market where it operates.  Store Manager, Becky McDonald, has been with the company for only 1 year, but has a wealth of retail management experience and transfers to the new store from WinCo' s Bremerton store.  The entire management team and crew are enthusiastic about opening a new WinCo Foods store in Bellingham.  Ms. McDonald indicates that excitement for the new store is building among potential customers.  She looks forward to working with all of the employees to help the community get to know WinCo better and to provide a great customer experience for all of our new friends.  The entire WinCo Foods family looks forward to serving the community with a large selection of grocery items and our low price approach to the market.

As customers enter the store they'll see the "Wall of Values" featuring special low pricing on a wide variety of popular items.  Moving onto the main floor of the store, customers will first see the large fresh produce department, followed by the bulk foods, meat, deli, seafood, and bakery service departments.  The Bellingham store is the first to feature WinCo's new interior color scheme and décor package.  The large, unique bulk foods department displays nearly 900 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies, cereals, flours, pastas, spices and more.  We are excited for customers to come in to check out the new store and to continue to benefit from the everyday low pricing and quality that WinCo Foods is known for.
