WinCo Foods Announces Grand Opening of Two New Nevada Stores

BOISE, Idaho, Feb. 29, 2012  /PRNewswire/ -- WinCo Foods, LLC announced that it will open two new discount supermarkets on Sunday, March 4, at 9:00 a.m.  The two stores are located in the greater Las Vegas, Nevada, market and are located at 80 N. Stephanie in Henderson, Nevada, and at 6101 N. Decatur Blvd. in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Each store is approximately 94,000 square feet in size and will employ approximately 200 individuals, most of whom have been hired locally.

WinCo Foods is an employee owned company and is known as the supermarket low price leader in each of the markets where it operates.  Store Managers Sharon Guined (Henderson) and Jason Stopher (Las Vegas) are company veterans and are excited to open their new stores in each community.  Ms. Guined is a 26 year employee who has worked in several stores in Oregon and transfers to Henderson from Eugene, Oregon, where she was store manager.  Mr. Stopher has worked for WinCo for nearly 13 years and transfers from Twin Falls, Idaho, where he was store manager. 

Each of the managers is pleased with the number of qualified individuals who applied for employment at their stores.  Each feels confident that their store will open with a workforce of excited and motivated employees who are anxious to meet and begin serving their customers in each community.

As customers enter each store they'll see a large "Wall of Values" featuring special low pricing on a wide variety of popular items.  Moving onto the main floor of the store, customers will find the seafood and meat, deli and bakery departments, a large fresh produce department and a large and unique bulk foods department.  The bulk foods section displays over 600 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies and more.  "We are excited for our new customers to come in and see what makes WinCo Foods unique as our employee owners work hard to save them money on their grocery purchases," said Michael Read, the company spokesperson.
