WinCo Foods Announces Grand Opening of New Store in Tacoma, Washington

BOISE, Idaho, April 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- WinCo Foods, LLC announced today that it will open its newest discount supermarket at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2011.  The 104,000 square foot Tacoma, Washington store is located at 1913 S. 72nd Street and will open employing approximately 220 individuals.

WinCo Foods is an employee owned company and is known primarily for being the supermarket low price leader in each community where it operates.  Store Manager Ray Searcy comes to Tacoma from Vancouver, Washington and is a 19 year veteran of the company with a particular expertise in meat sales.  Ray and his assistant managers, Kevin Boob and Tone Thammavongsa, are very excited about serving the Tacoma community.

In addition to the regular features consumers expect in a WinCo Foods store, like our wall of values, extensive bulk foods department, and quality produce, meat, seafood, deli and bakery departments; the store makes extensive use of "green" technologies which create real energy efficiencies and savings of from 5% to 25% on refrigeration, heating, cooling and lighting the store and the product cases.  These innovations will reduce the store's carbon footprint and also reduce the potential for ozone depletion from refrigerants.
