Journey to The Kingdom of Swaziland in Africa to Experience Local Culture and Dedicate New Water Project.
Singer/Songwriter and Philanthropist Jewel to be a Featured Program Judge
NEW YORK, April 2, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Did you know roughly 325 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa lack access to clean water? That's more than the entire population of the United States in 2014.*
VOSS Water of Norway understands the challenges faced by communities with limited access to clean water. So, VOSS created Voss Foundation to address the availability of clean water, sanitation, and hygiene in this region.
With 31 Days to Make a Difference, VOSS Water is working with Voss Foundation to continue to raise awareness of these water scarcity issues. This year, a contest, Building One Well at a Time- www.onewellatatime.com, gives consumers a chance to share their understanding, vision and passion for this underserved region for the chance to win a once in a lifetime, all-expense paid adventure for two to Sub-Saharan Africa and to dedicate a new Voss Foundation water project in the Kingdom of Swaziland.
Through May 22nd, entrants are invited to enter in any one of 3 ways:
- Submit original or rights free photo with commentary or
- Create an original video or
- Choose an inspirational fact from a posted assortment
…for an opportunity to win an adventure to meet the members of the community, learn about their local culture, and participate in the dedication of a new water project.
Judges include Jewel, who, in addition to her music career, spearheads Project Clean Water, her charitable initiative to bring clean water to those in need around the world. Since 2009, Project Clean Water has partnered with Voss Foundation on the "Give A Drop" campaign. Kara Gerson, executive director of the Voss Foundation, David Hessekiel, president and founder of the Cause Marketing Forum and Saran Kaba Jones, founder & executive director, FACE Africa serve as the judging committee.
Submissions accepted at www.onewellatatime.com. Entries must express an understanding of the water scarcity issues; particularly how having access to clean water will positively affect daily lives in Sub-Saharan Africa. Winner will be announced by June 15, 2015.
