Wilton Manors Will Host Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Hagen Park on November 11, 2014
WILTON MANORS, Fla., Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Veterans Day is a day to pay tribute to those who have served in the armed forces and risked their lives to protect us at home and abroad. The City of Wilton Manors will bring the community together to honor local veterans at a special ceremony on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Hagen Park Community Center (2020 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, FL).

"This annual ceremony really provides an opportunity for the entire community to join together and recognize those who have risked their lives to protect our nation," said Patrick Cann, Director of Leisure Services Department. "There will be readings on reflections of memories from the different wars, conflicts and battles fought to protect our freedom."
Readings will cover: World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, September 11th and the War on Terror. The men and women of each of the branches of the armed forces will also be honored: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.
The Fort Lauderdale High School NJROTC will perform the presentation of the colors during the flag ceremony, and the Wilton Manors Historical Society will donate and display a memorial wreath.
