Wilton Manors Police Department is the first Police Department in the State of Florida to Welcome Electric Fuel-Free Motorcycle Into Fleet
WILTON MANORS, Fla., Aug. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wilton Manors Police Department is looking forward to reducing its carbon footprint for the betterment of the residents of Wilton Manors, the environment and the planet.

On August 12, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Wilton Manors City Commission Meeting, Officer Sam House will provide members of the public and the media with a sneak peak at the much-anticipated "Zero" motorcycle.
"We are proud to be the first police department in the State to welcome a "green" fuel-free motorcycle into our fleet," said Chief Paul O'Connell.
The electric motorcycle, known as "Zero," has a range of 150 miles on one charge, and reaches speeds of up to 98 miles per hour. "We wanted to find an economical and effective way to address traffic issues in the City, and this motorcycle fits the bill in all categories," said O'Connell.
"Zero" officially hit the streets in the City of Wilton Manors on Monday August 4, 2014. The City of Wilton Manors Police Department has purchased one (1) "Zero" motorcycle to date.
NOTE: The location of the August 12, 2014 Commission Meeting has moved to Hagen Park located at 2020 Wilton Drive.
