The partners-elect are:
Joseph M. Alcorta, Corporate & Securities. Based in Austin, Alcorta represents public and emerging growth companies, investment banks, venture capital firms, and private investors in a wide variety of corporate and securities law matters. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2000. He also holds an MBA from the University of Texas School of Business.
Samir Elamrani, Intellectual Property. Based in San Diego, Elamrani primarily advises biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and nanotechnology clients on all aspects of patent law and related business matters. He received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1999. He also holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Houston's Institute of Molecular Design, as well as a Ph.D. in chemistry from the Universite Claude Bernard in Lyon, France.
Morris J. Fodeman, Litigation. Based in New York, Fodeman focuses on white collar criminal defense, Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement defense, compliance and regulatory matters, internal investigations, and complex civil litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Fodeman served for nearly seven years as a federal prosecutor in New York. He earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1997.
Tung-On Kong, Litigation. Based in San Francisco, Kong is a trial lawyer specializing in patent litigation, with particular expertise in the field of generic pharmaceuticals. He received his J.D. from Tulane Law School in 1999.
James P. McCann, Real Estate & Environmental. Based in Palo Alto, McCann concentrates on the acquisition, development, financing, and leasing of office, industrial, biotech, and mixed-use property. He received his J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law in 1998.
Scott K. Murano, Corporate & Securities. Based in Palo Alto, Murano primarily advises medical device and life sciences companies on general corporate and transactional matters, including formation and operations, venture capital transactions, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. He earned his J.D. from the Northwestern University School of Law in 2001.
Rachel B. Proffitt, Corporate & Securities. Based in Palo Alto, Proffitt counsels clients on a broad array of general corporate and transactional matters, including start-up formation, venture capital transactions, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, public-company disclosure, and corporate governance. She received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2002.
Franklin M. Rubinstein, Antitrust. Based in Washington, D.C., Rubinstein focuses on antitrust matters, including those related to mergers and acquisitions, government investigations, class action litigation, and criminal investigations. He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 2001.
Lisa Stimmell, Corporate & Securities. Based in Palo Alto, Stimmell primarily advises public companies and larger enterprise clients on complex corporate governance and transactional issues. She received her J.D. from UCLA Law School in 2002.
Michelle Wallin, Employee Benefits & Compensation. Based in Palo Alto, Wallin represents public and private technology and growth companies with respect to a wide range of executive compensation and employee benefit matters. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2000.
