Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Expands Litigation and Antitrust Practices

Stewart has become a partner at the firm. Stewart specializes in antitrust and intellectual property litigation, and has represented a broad array of technology, financial, and industrial clients before U.S., European, and Asian courts and regulatory agencies. He will divide his time between the firm's Seattle and Palo Alto offices.

Stewart joins the firm from Howrey, where he served as a litigation partner in the San Francisco office. Among other matters, he defended telecommunications giant Qualcomm before the Korean Fair Trade Commission in a five-year investigation addressing competition and intellectual property matters. Prior to joining Howrey, Stewart was vice president and deputy general counsel at RealNetworks in Seattle, where he led the company's successful landmark antitrust litigation and regulatory initiatives against Microsoft in the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Korea. Earlier, he had served as senior vice president, chief administrative officer, and general counsel of Emerald Solutions, a Seattle-based technology start-up, as well as an associate and then partner at Sidley Austin in Chicago and New York, where he successfully defended the American Bar Association in seven private antitrust lawsuits. Stewart received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 1986, a master's of science degree from the University of Edinburgh in 1984, and an A.B. from Harvard University in 1982.
