Wilson Electronics Introduces Cellular Booster Portability at International CTIA Wireless 2011
New battery power pack accessory makes two of Wilson's best selling signal boosters truly portable — on display at CTIA booth #4633
ST. GEORGE, Utah, March 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Wilson Electronics (www.WilsonElectronics.com), manufacturer of North America's top-selling line of cellular signal boosters, today announced at International CTIA Wireless 2011 in Orlando a battery pack accessory that makes two of the company's most popular boosters truly portable.
The Wilson portable battery pack weighs about 2 ounces when loaded with four standard AAA batteries (about 0.5 ounces on its own). It will operate the Sleek signal booster for two hours of talk time (voice or data), and up to six hours in standby mode. The device, which measures just under 3 inches tall by 2 inches wide, and 0.5 inches thick, will have a suggested retail price of $16.95. It is on display at CTIA booth #4633.
The portable battery pack, available starting in April, combined with the Sleek (2.5 ounces) will provide a fully portable cellular signal boosting solution to remote workers, emergency personnel and recreationists who may need connectivity in weak signal areas while away from a building or vehicle. The battery pack will also power the award-winning MobilePro signal booster, and connects to each device via a USB cord supplied with each product. When connected to the MobilePro, it will give about one hour of talk time, and up to three hours of idle time.
"The portable battery pack makes two of our top selling boosters, the Sleek and MobilePro, even more portable," said Laine Matthews, Wilson Electronics director of business development. "Construction workers, Search and Rescue personnel, Wildland Firefighters, cyclists, hikers and others can now have the benefit of these two signal boosters in outdoor locations where there is no other power source available. The battery pack is perfect for these kinds of situations — when staying connected isn't just a convenience, but a matter of personal safety."
Wilson cellular signal boosters work with phones, tablets, data cards, machine-to-machine (M2M) applications as well as cellular-enabled multiple Internet access devices, such as the Mi-Fi, which operate on networks using North American cellular bands.
