FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jan. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Woodforest National Bank recently announced the addition of Willy Gomez as Regional President-Commercial Banking for their Florida market. Gomez brings 35 years of Florida banking experience to Woodforest with 30 years in management and extensive experience in Middle Market. Previously with HSBC, Gomez managed their Middle Market in the South including Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Florida.
Gomez will spearhead the opening of Woodforest's new Commercial Banking offices in Miami and Tampa with plans to hire approximately 25 bankers for full time positions as Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Treasury Managers and an Assistant. The economic impact to the state of Florida from this employment should exceed $4MM annually.

Gomez and his wife reside in Davie, FL. and have three daughters and one son.
