DENVER, Feb. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- William Howard Taft University is pleased to announce the 14th Annual Roger J. Duthoy Scholarship recipient is Stephanie McInerney from Meridian, Idaho. Ms. McInerney is currently a faculty member at the College of Western Idaho. She impressed the scholarship review committee with her diverse background in science education and industry.

In addition to her duties at the College of Western Idaho, Ms. McInerney serves as an associate scientist for the J.R. Simplot Co. Her academic background is in the biological sciences where she completed a master's degree in Cell and Developmental Biology from the Oregon Health and Science University and a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Nevada.
Ms. McInerney's previous education experience includes teaching science to 5th – 9th graders in Taiwan and serving as a principal for a charter academy. Her immediate goal upon completion of the doctorate is to work with students and faculty in the growing area of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
