William H. Glick of Rice University Assumes Chair of the AACSB International Board of Directors
TAMPA, Fla., July 13, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- William H. Glick, dean and H. Joe Nelson III Professor of Management at Rice University's Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business, began a one-year term July 1, 2015 as chair of the board of directors of AACSB International (AACSB).

Upon completion of his chairmanship duties, Glick's volunteer service for AACSB will have spanned almost a decade. He was elected to the AACSB board in 2007 as a member, as secretary/treasurer in 2013, and as vice chair-chair elect in 2014. Over the years, Glick has provided great direction to the future of management education by serving as chair and/or member of more than 17 different task forces, working groups or committees including, the Business Practices Task Force, the Emerging Economies Advisory Group, the CEO Selection Committee, the Blue Ribbon Committee on Accreditation Quality, the Committee on Issues in Management Education (CIME), the Special Committee on Global Accreditation Strategy, the AACSB 100th Anniversary Committee, and the AACSB 2020 Committee.
In addition, Dr. Glick has played an active role in the AACSB Accreditation process by serving as chair and/or member of several peer review teams and accreditation committees. He is a prominent speaker, and has presented at more than 12 AACSB conferences around the world. Glick has also served as co-chair and/or member of several peer developed working groups including, the New Deans Learning Community Affinity Group and the Private US Research Universities Affinity Group.

Since 2005, Glick has served as dean and H. Joe Nelson III professor of management at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business of Rice University. Dr. Glick received his doctorate in Business Administration from the University of California-Berkley, and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from The University of Michigan. His first faculty appointment was at the University of Texas at Austin where he became Director of the Business Honors Program. He also served as the chair of the Department of Management at Arizona State University and a visiting professor at INSEAD.
As a prolific scholar in premier management journals, Glick was named as one of the top 100 authors in management based on the numbers of citations to their research. He currently serves on the Leadership Circle for Vision 2020, a national organization dedicated to gender equality; on the Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star Advisory Board; and the board for Panton, a Houston-based tech startup.
