CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Foundation Repair Association has members from 19 states, but only one from the Carolinas has a nationally-certified foundation repair specialist on staff. In April 2017, Falcone Crawl Space owner Fred Falcone traveled to Houston, Texas to take the NFRA exam and attend the organization's annual conference.
Falcone says "I was so relieved to find out that a foundation repair organization already existed that mirrored our company's values. The National Foundation Repair Association seemed to have a strong Code of Ethics, solid By-Laws and strict Advertising Guidelines. They also offered an exam to become certified. I figured it was worth finding out more about this organization that has been around since the mid-80's, so I registered for their annual conference, applied to take the exam, and drove my truck to Houston. After taking the exam and attending the conference, I found that this organization was stronger than I anticipated. I was surrounded by folks who are concerned about the same thing as me: educating homeowners and each other to the best practices of the industry. I attended workshops where many companies sat with their local competitors and collaborated on ways to better serve. Luckily there's a group, although it's not local, that mirrors the Falcone values."
The executive director of the association, Joe McCullough, says:
"The National Association for Foundation Repair is proud to announce that Fred Falcone of Falcone Crawl Space & Structural Repair has been entered into a growing field of Nationally CERTIFIED Foundation Repair Specialist in the U.S. The national foundation repair exam places the Falcone company in a prestigious membership category of 'CERTIFIED SPECIALIST' who have gone well beyond common knowledge and hands on experience. Preparation for the national test takes months, subject knowledge and significant study to pass. When a consumer is searching and hoping to get a "qualified foundation repairman" off the internet vs. a (Chuck in a Truck Character) look for the 'CERTIFIED SPECIALIST' in your area that knows what they are doing and can repair your home best."
Dan Jaggers, NFRA President, says:
"There are plenty of fly–by–night companies that know just how to underbid quality NFRA companies and that is their ploy, so we receive many calls and hear about bad result stories all the time from these types of companies. These bad actors are exactly why… the NFRA was created as an effort to weed out the bad actors before the consumer gets burned... That is what stands NFRA apart as professionals in the foundation repair business all over the U.S."
