Who Says No One's Hiring?
Leading Owner and Operator of Fitness Clubs in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions of the United States, Town Sports International, Has More Than 1,000 Job Openings
NEW YORK, Sept. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- While President Obama addressed the nation last night about the national state of unemployment, Town Sports International (TSI), operators of New York, Boston, Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia Sports Clubs, has some good news to share. The company is looking to fill more than 1,000 jobs in the northeast and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.
TSI is looking for new employees that have a passion for fitness and serving others. The company is currently hiring personal trainers, club managers, membership consultants, laundry and cleaning associates, facilities technicians and specialized instructors for tennis, swimming and squash.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor, jobs for fitness employees are anticipated to grow 29 percent or more between now and 2018, making fitness employment one of the fastest-growing industries for potential employees. That growth is supported by the increasing demand of people who are spending more of their time and money in fitness facilities. In fact, according to a 2011 survey by the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, 36 percent of respondents said they planned to spend more money in joining or rejoining health clubs over the next 12 months, up 23 percent from last year.
"Town Sports International is committed to placing member satisfaction above all else, so we continue to develop innovative fitness programs and maintain state-of-the-art facilities that require well-trained staff who are dedicated to quality and service," said Robert Giardina, President and CEO of TSI. "Because of that commitment, we are always looking for people who support our mission of helping others improve their lives through exercise."
The announcement of TSI's available jobs will be supported with a print advertising campaign scheduled to appear September 9th in major print outlets in New York, featuring the headline, "Mr. President, guess you didn't hear we're hiring."
