TEL AVIV, Israel, Jan. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- WhiteSource, the leader in open source security and license management, announced today their partnership with six new resellers across the globe.
The new partners are Commentator A/S from Denmark, Apera LTD from China, Switch from Turkey, Virtual Data Consultants (VDC) from India, Web Control from Russia, and Coontec from South Korea.
"We are proud to welcome our new partners to the WhiteSource family of resellers that are helping us to promote the better usage of open source," says Rami Sass, WhiteSource's CEO. "We believe that adding our powerful tools for managing open source security and licenses to their offerings will help them to provide increased value to their customers, and of course bring WhiteSource's solutions to a wider set of developers around the world."
This announcement also marks WhiteSource's first entrance into the Chinese market.
"We view these new relationships with our resellers as an opportunity to reach out to new regions and markets and increase awareness to Open Source security and license management," says Sass, referring to WhiteSource's growth over the past year in North America and Western Europe, adding that, "Our partners help to bring our innovative technology to these new markets, growing their value proposition with a stronger SaaS offering for their customers."
WhiteSource expects to see new business enter through these channels, which already have the necessary networks and understanding of local needs to provide a premium level of service to customers in these countries.
"Working closely with customers in their local regions, we hope to see increased engagement with our new users through the efforts of our resellers," explains Sass. He notes that by having a local interface for customers, who speak their language, WhiteSource will be able to have a larger impact in helping developers in these regions build better software, bringing its market-leading solution for secure open source coding to a wider audience.
Looking forward to 2018, WhiteSource plans to continue increasing its reach into new markets and is currently evaluating adding more partners in new regions.
Founded in 2011 by CEO Rami Sass, Chairman of the Board Ron Rymon, and General Manager Azi Cohen, WhiteSource has offices in the Tel Aviv area and Boston. The company has received investment from Microsoft and 83 North, raising a $10 million Series B in June of 2017. The strong offering has also been recognized by Forrester, which recently ranked WhiteSource as a "strong performer" among all Software Composition Analysis (SCA) offerings in its 2017 Wave report.
