Whitebox Advisors Adds Seasoned Communications Professional Eileen Chanen as Managing Editor
New hire will serve in a specialized creative and strategic role for the firm
MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Whitebox Advisors, an asset management company based in Minneapolis with more than $2.8 billion in AUM (10/31/2013), announced it hired Eileen Chanen as managing editor, a new role that aims to streamline the creative, writing and communication process for the firm.
Chanen will be responsible for marketing materials development and will have editorial oversight for Whitebox hedge fund and mutual fund publications. She'll also streamline processes in order to release relevant information to investors in a timely and effective manner.
"As we have grown and expanded our offerings, our need for creative, effective writing staff has also increased," said Whitebox Founder and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Redleaf. "With Eileen's help, we will be able to ensure our investors receive the information that is important to them effectively and efficiently."
Chanen joins Whitebox with more than 20 years of writing and editorial management experience in the corporate and investment industries. In her most recent role, Chanen served as product marketing manager for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, where she led marketing communications strategy for investment and insurance products, among other positions during her 10-year tenure with the organization. Prior to Thrivent, Chanen was vice president of marketing communications for U.S. Bancorp's institutional trust and custody division. Earlier in her career, Chanen held various publication, marketing, and public relations roles.
Chanen holds a BS degree in journalism and public relations from Oklahoma State University.
