WASHINGTON, July 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, the White House Council of Economic Advisers released a report highlighting the growing skills gap faced by American companies. According to the new report, which is the highlight of a White House event Thursday, there are not enough skilled workers to meet the demand of the growing job market. The report describes how worker training typically takes place early in life, with less emphasis placed upon reskilling workers as the labor market and technology evolve.
The Global Indian IT services industry comprised of companies with roots in India strongly supports the need to grow the skilled workforce in the U.S.
Indian companies have been working for many years with American companies and are playing a key role in keeping the American economy competitive and growing. Throughout the U.S.—from urban to rural communities—they are supporting the complete skills and workforce development ecosystem from K-12 curriculum and teacher professional development to reskilling.
More permanently, they are investing hundreds of millions of dollars to train and educate American workers on the skills needed to succeed in current and future jobs. Their efforts are helping American companies innovate, stay competitive, and accelerate the creation of new jobs in the U.S.
The Global Indian IT services industry continues its support of public and private partnerships to address current and future skills gaps.
