COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- White Castle is calling for entries from its most dedicated fans, fondly known as Cravers, for an opportunity to be chosen for induction into the 2014 Cravers Hall of Fame. Earlier this year, White Castle's Original Slider was named Time magazine's most influential burger ever in a poll of hamburger historians. This honor solidifies why this legion of loyal followers is known to travel long distances and overcome many obstacles just to satisfy their crave for White Castle. Cravers have until July 31 to submit their entries for the 14th Annual Cravers Hall of Fame Contest.
The Hall of Fame was established in 2001, and 7,645 Cravers have vied for the honor of a Cravers Hall of Fame induction. This elite Hall of Fame is home to 170 inductees, including the current speaker of the house and two movie stars. All stories are celebrated in the Hall of Fame section of the White Castle website.
"As a family-owned company, White Castle always strives to give back to our loyal Cravers who have supported us for 93 years," said Jamie Richardson, White Castle vice president. "Loyalty is a quality that is important to our company and it is important to the people we serve every day. The Cravers Hall of Fame is a chance for White Castle to honor our fans who have gone to great lengths to satisfy the Crave and recognize them for their devotion to our brand."
Winning Cravers are invited to Columbus, Ohio, to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony this fall. Cravers can submit original stories about their relationship with White Castle, why White Castle is meaningful to them, and the efforts they have undertaken to satisfy cravings for all the menu items White Castle has to offer at http://www.whitecastle.com/cravers/hall-of-fame/new. Stories are evaluated for originality, duration and extent of the "Crave." Official rules are available at www.whitecastle.com/cravers/hall-of-fame-rules.
In 2002, White Castle began to induct public figures, celebrities and pop icons who had publicly shown their love of White Castle. Past "Cravers in Extremis" include current Speaker of the House John Boehner; Alex Weresow, a Los Angeles television producer; and the stars of "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle," John Cho and Kal Penn.
