Whisper Creek Farm: The Kitchen To Showcase Mouthwatering Treats At Orlando's Annual Bacchus Bash
Farm-to-table restaurant at JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes specializes in comfort foods with fresh produce grown on the resort's nearby farm
ORLANDO, Fla., March 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Whisper Creek Farm: The Kitchen at JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes has something big to shout about on April 1, 2016.
The innovative eatery celebrating its one year anniversary is taking part in the 30th annual Bacchus Bash from 5 to 10 p.m. at Orlando Premium Outlets. Street party attendees will get a taste of the restaurant's farm-inspired comfort food with their choice of a tuna poke with wasabi aioli, sprouts and sesame cone or a pan-seared mahi-mahi with peas, charred corn, queso fresco and a panca chili pepper broth. A strawberry layer cake with rhubarbs and acai berries — served in a disposable baby mason jar — will tempt the palates of all festivalgoers with a sweet tooth, while adults 21 and older can sample a specialty cocktail known as The Strawberry Patch with St. Augustine vodka, honey syrup, fresh lemon juice and homemade balsamic shrub.
"We are excited to bring some mouthwatering morsels from our farm to the table at Bacchus Bash," said Jadan Sheive, Executive Chef at the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes. "It gives me great pleasure to kick off spring and showcase our restaurant by offering dishes highlighting the vegetables and fruits of our labor right here on the farm."
Bacchus Bash, an event benefitting Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association, will feature more than 70 food, beverage and entertainment venues. Patrons can purchase Bacchus Bucks, starting at $25, to use at vendor booths throughout the festival. A raffle, wine wall and silent auction with prizes ranging from hotel stays to sporting event tickets are included in the festivities. More than 25,000 people are expected to attend.
Whisper Creek Farm: The Kitchen is a casual restaurant where reservations are not necessary. Flatbreads, small sandwiches, snacks and small plates make up the majority of the menu, featuring seasonal items to highlight a popular crop. Diners who sit at the chefs' station have a bird's-eye view into the open-concept kitchen, where culinary experts can show off their skills while using the products grown at the nearby 7,000-square-foot farm. An extensive wine list that would make Bacchus, the Roman god of agriculture and wine, proud offers whites, reds and bubblies by the glass and bottle. An on-site brewery produces 28 gallons of beer weekly. Eats and drinks can be enjoyed while conversing on the rustic terrace so foodies can appreciate Orlando's weather.
The restaurant is open from 5 to 11 p.m. daily for food service and until midnight for bar service.
