BENTON HARBOR, Mich., April 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized Whirlpool Corporation with the 2017 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence. Whirlpool Corporation received the award for manufacturing energy-efficient kitchen and laundry appliances that make outstanding contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
"The 2017 award reflects our many products that continue to demonstrate efficient energy performance," said Ron Voglewede, global sustainability director for Whirlpool Corporation. "Whirlpool Corporation has a 47-year commitment to sustainability and a long-standing history of balancing energy efficiency with consumer needs. We are proud of recognitions like these and remain focused on delivering sustainable and innovative solutions."

"Across our nine U.S. manufacturing operations, and in our global technology and design centers in Michigan, our employees are dedicated to building home appliance products that save energy and water without compromising performance," said Joe Liotine, President North America for Whirlpool Corporation. "Of the products we make, more than 80 percent of the products we sell in the United States are assembled in the United States."
