The Conference Board Human Capital Watch Examines the Outlook for Employment; Inaugural Edition of Monthly Webcast Series to be Held September 21
NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In the first edition of its new monthly webcast series offered exclusively to members, The Conference Board is partnering with Dr. Susan Lund, Director of Research at McKinsey & Company's McKinsey Global Institute, to discuss the outlook for employment. She will be joined by researchers from The Conference Board, including Dr. Gad Levanon, Director of Macroeconomic Research, and Dr. Mary Young, Principal Researcher, Human Capital, to examine global employment challenges and the outlook for jobs. Also participating will be Rich Floersch, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at McDonald's Corporation, who will examine the issue from a global practitioner's perspective. This webcast will be held September 21 at 11:00 AM ET.
Dr. Lund is a Principal and the Director of Research at the McKinsey Global Institute, McKinsey & Company's business and economics research arm. Her most recent research has focused on how to revive job growth and boost long-term productivity in the U.S. Mr. Floersch is responsible for overseeing McDonald's human resources function for its 400,000 employees in 118 countries. As a member of the senior management team, he is responsible for the company's talent management, leadership development, rewards and employment branding programs. Dr. Levanon conducts research on various macroeconomic and labor market topics, and developed The Conference Board Employment Trends Index™, a widely-watched index that aggregates eight labor market indicators to more accurately depict underlying trends in employment. Dr. Young's research focuses on the workplace impacts of demographic trends such as the aging workforce.
