Wheelabrator Technologies Inc. to Sell Claremont Energy-from-Waste Facility
Live Onsite & Online Auction to be Held April 14, 2015
CLAREMONT, N.H., March 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Wheelabrator Technologies Inc. announced today its Claremont energy-from-waste facility is for sale.
Wheelabrator has entered into an agreement with Stuart B. Millner & Associates (SBMA) — an industrial and power plant asset management company — to manage the sale. The plant may be sold completely intact and ready to operate or as separate pieces of equipment.
SBMA is now accepting offers on Wheelabrator's behalf to purchase the facility in its entirety. If no agreement is reached prior to April 13, 2015, the company will hold a live auction for the sale of all or part of its assets Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 10 a.m.
The facility, located at 145 Grissom Lane, includes over 30,000 square feet of fully functional plant operation. The energy-from-waste facility is capable of processing over 200 tons per day of municipal solid waste and offers a generating capacity of 5,000 kilowatts. The plant has been out of service since September 2013, after 27 years of successful operation.
The highlights of the sale include the following assets:

- 2003 CAT IT28G Front Loader and 2000 CAT 928-IT28G front loader
- McGraw-Edison 5000 KVA Transformer
- 2002 Center Flow Surface Condenser (serial no. 2940-7)
- 2001 Freightliner FL112 Roll-off
- Numerous backup electric motors (large selection of spare parts)
- Numerous tanks (various sizes)
- Von Roll Inc. Boilers – (Capable of 23,000 lbs of steam/hr)
- Various air compressors (Quincy and Atlas)
- Turbine vacuum pump
- A variety of hoists
- Main plant building – concrete foundations and tipping floor with corrugated steel siding and cross-framed I-beams 14.5" wide x 12.5" inside the beam; plant building dimensions (approximately 184' x 154', and 63' height at peak)
- Ash building (approximately 52' x 52', corrugated steel)
- Workshop building (approximately 50' x 20')
The planned auction will be a live onsite and online event. Bidders can either bid in person at the Claremont facility (traditional-style) or register online at Bidspotter to place bids across the internet in real time.
