Analyst Update: Upcoming Events, Dividends, Deployments, and Acquisitions

U.S. stocks advanced higher on Friday, April 24, 2015, led by strong first quarter results of major technology heavyweights. The NASDAQ Composite advanced 0.71%, to close at 5,092.09; the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.12%, to finish the day at 18,080.14, and the S&P 500 finished at 2,117.69, up 0.23%. European stocks recovered on Friday, following a disappointing run on previous trading session. Germany's DAX 30 rose 0.74%; France's CAC 40 advanced 0.44%, and London's FTSE 100 gained 0.24% on Friday. Meanwhile, major Asian stock markets fell on Friday as China's securities regulator announced to accelerate approval of initial public offerings in a seeming effort to cool the red hot market. The Shanghai Composite and Japan's Nikkei both closed lower on Friday.
On April 22, 2015, Broadcom Corporation announced its participation in four upcoming events. Broadcom stated that its presentations at these events may include information on current and future products and technologies, end market trends and current financial prospects.
Cisco Systems, Inc. reported on April 22, 2015 that Brazil-based retail group CSD (Companhia Sulamericana de Distribuição, or South American Distribution Company) has selected Cisco® technology to unify its communications infrastructure.
On March 6, 2015, Verizon Communications Inc. announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.55 per outstanding share, unchanged from the dividend paid in the last quarter.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd reported that on February 10, 2015 its Board of Directors adopted a proposal recommending distribution of a NT$4.5 cash dividend per common share. The Company added that the proposal will be discussed and decided at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on June 9, 2015.
Procera Networks Inc announced on April 22, 2015 a definitive agreement to be acquired by private funds managed by Francisco Partners Management, L.P., a leading global technology-focused private equity firm, for approximately $240 million in an all-cash transaction.
