"When we introduced Our Daily Red (ODR) in 1989, we wanted to make a wine that was as pure as possible," says Kate Eckert, Our Daily's marketing manager. "ODR is made with organic grapes, has no added preservatives and is gluten free and vegan." Eckert goes on to point out that these benefits have gone mainstream. "In our research, we've seen that more than half of wine drinkers are looking for wines that offer one of these benefits -- organic, no preservatives added, gluten free, or vegan. Just look how many grocery stores have separate organic, gluten-free and vegan sections for food!"
Our Daily Wines originally launched with a red blend only, but the winery introduced a Cabernet Sauvignon in 2014. Our Daily Cab was such a hit, the winery added the new Zinfandel and Chardonnay this year. The two new wines were released in March and are available nationally for about $11.00.
Third generation winemaker Justin Weibel grew up in the vineyard. His family legacy extends back to the 1930s, when his grandfather and great-grandfather emigrated from Switzerland and began making sparkling wine in San Francisco. Weibel Vineyards helped revitalize the quality of American wine after prohibition and Weibel feels like he's doing the same thing again: "the quality of organically-grown grapes has expanded dramatically over the past few years, and that gives us the ability to pick and choose between more diverse sources. Making a preservative-free wine demands that we start with really clean, balanced juice."
Our Daily Wines are all available nationally at fine wine retailers including Whole Foods, Kroger stores, Sprouts and several others.
