Analyst Update: Operational Results and Financial Results

U.S. stocks fell on Wednesday as disappointing US economic data weighed on investor sentiment. The NASDAQ Composite slipped 0.63% to 5,023.64, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.41%, to close at 18,035.53, and the S&P 500 ended the session at 2,106.85, down 0.37%. European stocks stumbled on Wednesday caused by a sharp surge in the value of the euro against US dollar. Germany's DAX 30, witnessed the biggest point decline since October 2008, down 378.94 points, or 3.21%. Also, France's CAC 40, and London's FTSE 100 dropped 2.6% and 1.2%, respectively on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Asian markets mostly closed lower on Wednesday. Australia's S&P ASX and Hong Kong's Hang Seng index both slipped on Wednesday, while the Shanghai Composite Index saw modest gains. The Nikkei was closed on Wednesday due to the annual Showa Day holiday.
Kosmos Energy Ltd. announced that it has made a significant gas discovery offshore Mauritania. In the announcement that came out on April 27, 2015, the Company stated that the Tortue-1 exploration well which was drilled to test the Tortue West prospect, which forms part of the Greater Tortue Complex, in Block C-8 offshore Mauritania, made a significant, play-opening gas discovery.
Barnwell Industries, Inc. reported its financial results for Q1 ended December 2014. The Company reported a fall in its net loss for the quarter on a Y-o-Y basis. For the reported quarter, the net loss came in at $467,000 or $0.06 per share versus $989,000 or $0.12 per share for the quarter ended in December 2013.
FieldPoint Petroleum Corporation announced its financial results for FY 2014 on March 30, 2015. Revenue for the year decreased from $10.51 million in FY 2013 to $9.23 million in FY 2014. The Company reported a net loss of $1.94 million versus a net income of $1.28 million for FY 2013.
Companhia Siderurgica Nacional announced its consolidated financial results for Q4 2014 and FY 14. In the earnings release issued by the Company on March 12, 2015, the net revenue for Q4 was reported at R$3,820 million, which was 2% lower from Q3 revenue.
CARBO Ceramics announced that the Company plans to release earnings for Q1 FY2015 on April 30, 2015. The Company will also be hosting a conference call to discuss the results at 10:30 a.m. CT (11:30 a.m. ET) on the same day.
