What to Know Before You Go to the Wings Over North Georgia Air Show
ROME, Ga., Oct. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The seventh annual Wings Over North Georgia Air Show takes flight this week on October 13-14, 2018. The two-day event will be hosted at the Russell Regional Airport in Rome, GA and will feature co-headliners; the F-22 Raptor and A-10 Warthog Tactical Demonstration Teams and Tora! Tora! Tora!'s reenactment of the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. The show is a tribute to all members of the military including those in the Greatest Generation who fought, served, and supported the war effort during WWII through today's active duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

New/Featured in 2018:
- Aerobatic performer Michael Goulian will arrive in Rome, GA fresh on the heels of a championship win during the Red Bull Air Races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Oct. 7. The win at the Brickyard positions Goulian for a possible international series win in Texas during the final race of the season in November.
- Tora! Tora! Tora! Will make a first time appearance during the seventh annual air show in Rome, GA. The reenactment of the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941 is a powerful combination of warbird aircraft demonstrating dynamic military attack maneuvers, pyrotechnics, actual 1941 radio accounts, and a live narrative of the action.
- The show has one of the strongest military and civilian performer air show lineups in the entire southeast for the 2018 season: military and civilian, old and new - warbirds and the newest aviation wonders, elite solo aerobatic performers, group formation flights, military tributes, a large military static display with some of the largest aircraft currently in production available for tours, skydivers, jet cars, and more! There will be more than five hours of flying action each day of the air show weekend.
- Purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to participate in the air show – Raffle tickets will be sold with one winner randomly drawn for a chance to win a 200 mph ride in the jet truck during the plane vs jet truck race on Sunday. 100% of the proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the VOIEF (Veterans of Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom) organization.
Weather: Cooler and sunny weather is forecasted for the weekend. Please dress and prepare accordingly. With the possibility of bright sunshine for the weekend, sunscreen is recommended.

Purchase advance tickets online or in person Thursday, October 11-Friday, October 12 from the air show ticket sales office at the air show site.
Traffic: We anticipate large crowds over the two-day period. Please plan to arrive early for the air show to make your experience more pleasurable. There are a number of activities onsite to take advantage of in addition to air show performances: military aircraft on static display, vendor booths, drinks, food, and more.
