Analyst Update: Earnings Update, Acquisition, New Contract, and Partnership
The U.S. markets ended lower on Monday as the concern over Greece's precarious financial condition and China's slowing growth weighed on the investor sentiment. The energy index saw a sharp sell off on the back of weak oil prices. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 85.94 points or 0.47% to close the day at 18,105.17. The NASDAQ and S&P 500 ended the day at 4,993.57 and 2,105.33, respectively, down by 0.2% and 0.51%, respectively, for the day. The European markets too ended the day in the red on Greece debt fears. The FTSE 100 was down 0.24%, DAX lost 0.31%, and CAC 40 plunged 1.23%. However, Asian markets (excluding Australia), traded higher as investors cheered China's latest cut in interest rates to boost its slowing economy.
On May 6, 2015, Marchex, Inc., a mobile advertising analytics company, today announced its financial results for Q1 FY15. GAAP revenue was $42.6 million for Q1 FY15, compared to $50.5 million for Q1 FY14. GAAP net income from continuing operations was $4.6 million for the first quarter of 2015, compared to GAAP net income from continuing operations of $846,000 for the prior-year quarter.
On April 29, 2015, Yelp Inc. announced financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. The Company's net revenue for the quarter was $118.5 million, which reflected 55% growth over the first quarter of 2014. Adjusted EBITDA was $16.3 million, reflecting a 92% increase over the first quarter of 2014.
On May 5, 2015, IMS Health announced that it has acquired Dataline Software, a provider of Big Data analytics for healthcare, to extend its technology-enabled Real-World Evidence (RWE) platform and accelerate delivery of integrated clinical and cost-of-care insights for assessing healthcare value and performance.
On May 6, 2015, InterCloud Systems, Inc., a provider of end-to-end information technology and next-generation network solutions through cloud solutions and professional services, announced that it has bagged a $1.5 million contract for network expansion with New York City's largest provider of family services. Pursuant to the contract, InterCloud will provide UC solutions, data networking, network security and professional services for 21 center locations.
On May 6, 2015, Urban Airship, and Teradata Marketing Applications a division of Teradata Corp., announced a joint solution as part of the firms' strategic partnership announced last year. Digital marketers can now include highly individualized mobile messaging in their cross-channel digital campaigns. The creation, development and scheduling of mobile campaigns are performed in Teradata's Customer Interaction Manager and delivered through Urban Airship's mobile engagement platform.
