SKIL Power Tools Invites Fans to Showcase Their DIY Talent with Online Contest
MT. PROSPECT, Ill., May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- For nearly 90 years SKIL Power Tools has been helping do-it-yourselfers tackle their home improvement and woodworking projects. Now, the company is giving fans an opportunity to showcase their talent with the "What Can Your SKIL Build?" photo contest. From May 25 through June 22, consumers can upload photos of their best DIY projects to the brand's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/skil, for a chance to win a gift card up to $1,500 and up to $500 worth of SKIL tools.
"SKIL has more than 50 tools, including drills, saws, sanders and jigsaws, to help get any job done," said Rick Bauer, Brand Manager, SKIL Power Tools. "Our fans have proudly been sharing photos of their projects with us for years, so we felt it was time to recognize and reward them for their efforts. The prizes will help them get to work on their next DIY project!"
For the next four weeks, consumers can upload their photos along with a brief description of their project to the brand Facebook page and the experts at SKIL will review and select the top 10 entries. The finalists will be posted to SKIL's Facebook page for fans to vote on their favorite. The three projects that receive the most votes will be rewarded with various cash prizes and new SKIL Power Tools. First place will receive a $1,500 gift card and a $500 prize pack of SKIL tools, and second and third will receive $500 in new SKIL tools and $1,000 and $500 respectively.
