SAN ANTONIO, March 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- WGU Texas has partnered with UPGRADE, a San Antonio Education Partnership program, to provide employees with pathways to high-quality educational opportunities. Employees are eligible for a tuition discount and special scholarships.
UPGRADE is an extension of the Graduate! Network – a national network that connects adults to high-quality degrees and certificates and is the first and only state affiliate of the national network. Housed in the cafécollege, UPGRADE advisors provide one-on-one advising and case management to adults interested in the successful completion of their educational aspirations. WGU Texas is also an UPGRADE sponsor.
"WGU Texas is delighted to assist with UPGRADE employee development goals," said Dr. Steven Johnson, WGU Texas Chancellor. "We look forward to providing new avenues to advance their education with bachelor's and master's degree programs."
Under the terms of the partnership, all UPGRADE employees are eligible to receive a five percent tuition discount (for up to four academic terms) off WGU Texas' flat-rate tuition of approximately $6,300 per year for most programs, and are eligible to apply for special scholarships, including the WGU Texas Institutional Partner Fund Scholarship. More information about the partnership is available at texas.wgu.edu/upgrade.
