WGU Scheduled for Accreditation Renewal Evaluation October 26-28; Public Comment Period Open Until September 17

SALT LAKE CITY, July 26, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Western Governors University (WGU) is scheduled for an accreditation site visit on October 26-28, 2016, by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and the public is invited to participate in the process.

The Commission provides an opportunity for third-party comment concerning the institution's qualifications for accreditation. This notice is an invitation for public comments which should be sent directly to the NWCCU no later than September 17, 2016. Only comments that are submitted in writing and signed will be accepted. WGU has been accredited continuously by NWCCU since 2003 and its accreditation was re-affirmed by the Commission most recently in 2014. The site evaluation and public comment period are part of the standard accreditation process which provide public assurance of educational quality and institutional integrity.
