WGU Launches Scholarship for New M.S. in Management and Leadership Degree Program
Online, competency-based university offers scholarships of up to $2,000 to business professionals who wish to cultivate leadership and organizational skills
SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Western Governors University (WGU), www.wgu.edu, is marking the launch of its new master's degree program, the M.S. in Management and Leadership, with a new scholarship. The M.S. Management and Leadership Scholarship is designed for business professionals who wish to cultivate the skills needed to move into greater management and leadership roles.
WGU will award multiple scholarships, valued at up to $2,000 each. Applicants for the scholarship must first be admitted as students in the M.S. in Management and Leadership degree program in WGU's College of Business. The program, which is an optimal choice for students who wish to pursue an accredited degree in an environment that fits their busy lives, leverages WGU's competency-based learning and technology—making it possible for students to study, finish assignments, and take tests at their own pace. Because WGU's degree programs focus on mastery of coursework rather than time spent in class, professionals who have previous college and work experience can accelerate the pursuit of their degree—saving both time and money.
Tuition for the M.S. in Management and Leadership program is affordable, at $3,250 per six-month term. Recipients of the M.S. in Management and Leadership Scholarship will receive a credit at the rate of up to $500 per term for up to four terms. To be eligible, students must have a bachelor's degree, apply and be admitted into the degree program, submit official college transcripts, and complete an interview with a WGU Scholarship Counselor. The application deadline is April 30, 2014. For more information about the M.S. Management and Leadership Scholarship, visit http://www.wgu.edu/MLScholarship.
The M.S. in Management and Leadership degree program teaches students how to manage in dynamic environments and develop high-performance teams. It focuses on ethical leadership, management communication, data-driven decision making, strategic management, and change management and innovation. Applications for the degree program are being accepted now and students may begin coursework on the first day of any month starting April 1, 2014. To learn more, visit http://www.wgu.edu/ML.
