Experienced leader to manage Chicago employee benefits practice

CHICAGO, Feb. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockton has appointed Ken Wexler to Practice Leader of Chicago's employee benefits practice. He is a veteran in the industry, with more than 27 years of experience, and will oversee the Chicago benefits operation. Lockton is the largest, privately held, independent insurance broker in the world and continues to expand.

Wexler joined Lockton in 2003 as a Unit Manager. In that role, he was responsible for developing account teams to consult with prospects and clients on benefit programs. Tom Schaffler, President of Lockton's Chicago benefits operation said, "Over the years, Ken has taken the time to provide high quality service and strategy development to clients, while also doing a terrific job of growing our Associates." Working with large national accounts, Wexler helped drive Chicago's employee benefits revenue to a record $25 million.

As Practice Leader, Wexler will continue to ensure delivery of client service and the success of account teams. He will also focus on internal operations and managing resources. Before coming to Lockton, Wexler spent several years on the carrier side of the employee benefits business at Aetna as a Senior Account Executive. There, he was responsible for the sales and servicing of the company's medical, dental, and group insurance products. Through product sales, he honed his experience in plan design while maximizing clients' budgets to find the best value.

He has a bachelor's degree in management science from Binghamton University, from which he also received an MBA in human resources and finance. Wexler is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS).
