Westwood One and Harpo Radio Announce Partnership
-- Westwood One to distribute Harpo Radio's The Gayle King Show, Dr. Oz and others to terrestrial radio stations --
NEW YORK, March 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Westwood One (Nasdaq: WWON) and Harpo Radio, Inc. today announced a multi-year partnership to distribute The Gayle King Show, a two-hour, daily radio talk program hosted by acclaimed newscaster and television personality Gayle King, to be broadcast on Westwood One's affiliate radio stations. The partnership will include distribution of additional Harpo Radio programming, including Gayle King Evening, a new, five-hour weeknight entertainment program featuring music, guests and topical conversation. Westwood One will also distribute a daily feature from Dr. Mehmet Oz, host of daytime television's newest hit, The Dr. Oz Show, and a three-hour weekend program, with content from Gayle King, Dr. Oz and other Harpo Radio programs. These programs will also be streamed on Westwood One's affiliates' websites.
This agreement expands the distribution of The Gayle King Show, which is currently in its fourth year on Sirius XM Satellite Radio, to include Westwood One's affiliate base of more than 5,000 radio stations.
In addition to hosting her radio program The Gayle King Show, King is Editor-at-Large for O, The Oprah Magazine and occasionally appears on The Oprah Winfrey Show. King's extensive media experience leads to in-depth on-air discussions about an array of topics ranging from current events and cultural trends to politics and more. King is a three-time Emmy® Award-winning newscaster who anchored the local news at a CBS affiliate in Hartford, Connecticut for 18 years. In 2008, she won the American Women in Radio & Television Gracie Award® for Outstanding Radio Talk Show and in 2010 the Individual Achievement Award for Host – Entertainment/Information. She is also a 2010 New York Women in Communications' Matrix Award recipient.
Renowned surgeon and best-selling author Dr. Mehmet Oz is host of the nationally syndicated The Dr. Oz Show, daytime television's newest hit series, and host of a daily radio show where he offers listeners health and wellness advice.
